Is it possible to get the updates-available email only once a week instead of daily?

I don't get an updates email, where to begin with that?

Admin notices are set to forward to my account.

anyone got an idea on how to change the interval of the update messages?

once a day is way too much for me
once a week or every other week would be much better....

Gee I must have missed that one.  I wish I could have those emails.  Would save me checking them manually

This is a long shot and possibly very non SME...but....

Maybe you can move 0check4updates out of /etc/cron.daily and into /etc/cron.weekly .
