I'd like to change fetchmail so that i collects more often than every 15 minutes. I understand that I may run into occasions where the previous collection is not completed before the next one tries to run, but I feel these will be few and far between.
That said, is there any way to change it? The maildrop/ETRN setting only allows a minimum of 15 minutes.
Thanks,
Rob

The maildrop/ETRN setting only allows a minimum of 15 minutes.
I'm not sure why yours only allows every 15 mins. Mine has every 5, 15 & 30 mins + every hour & 2 hours.....
Make sure you have selected ERTN when you do the save & then change it back to smtp and do a save again.

Hello Everyone,
May I ask what must I do to increase the ETRN/Multi-Drop frequency to anything sooner than 5 minutes ? (i.e. SME server will pick up mails every 2 or 3 minutes instead of 5.)
I can understand the 5 minutes constraint primarily for slower Internet connections, but since I am now using a 7Mbps Fibre to my ISP, I think I can afford to pickup mails a little more frequent than that.
Thanks in advance.

Not only that, but you have to think about your server (hardware) too.

Hello,
Thanks for the hint.
Although I am running SME 7.1.2 inside a VM with the host running MythTV back & front-end all in one, however since I am only using SME as a no hassle mail server serving only 3 users, coupled with an overpowered machine (I didn't know MythTV is that efficient so I spent some major bucks on the HW), I believe the concern you mentioned does not apply in my case.
Any idea on how to adjust the frequency to say, 3 minutes?
Thanks in advance.

Well the solution would be to make a custom template.
Look at /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/crontab/email for reference.
