This thread http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=33113.0 kind of leads me to believe I should be. Currently I have no pending yum updates, maybe things will change once I do.
When the box was running 7.0Pre2 I didn't get emails, has since just been upgraded to 7 final.

So no one, excedpt the guy in the above noted post, gets emails from their yum configuration? Good, I feel better now.
-
Update: I received an email from yum today saying there were updates to do. I like that feature. Either no one read this thread, or no one gets emails from their yum configuration.
Ever feel like you're talking to yourself?

Terry... fwiw I got an e-mail from my machine re: yum updates. It was, um, just yummy...
I plan on doing the update later on tonight when I get home. I'm at work right now and can't get to the machine, plus I thought I'd troll the forums and see if anyone had posted anything regarding the updates - ie;
my machine blew up after applying them
my machine runs better than ever now after applying them
my machine turned into a super model after applying them
etc...

I applied them this morning. Everything seems normal so far...

I received a yum mail informing me of the plethora of updates awaiting my box.
Question is, how do I initiate the updates?
Oh yes, how often does yum mail me??
Thanks!

Either go to the console, or shell in to the box, as root enter 'yum update'. Follow the prompts.
Note: the box must have internet access.

Thanks! Will try this tonight...

The box wouldn't know about updates being available if it didn't have internet access ;-)
