I have a backup file made from e-smith-manager, and want to restore my system with it.
I have made a new install of the server so now it's very critical that I get it back up with all the users and ibays.
When I try to "Restore from Desktop" it seems to work for some time, but when I reboot the system later nothing is changed. The free size on the disk is even the same as before the Restore.
Can anyone please help me??
Thanks

I also have a problem with "Restore from Desktop".
In my case I needed to increase the disk size so I backed to a workstation, created a re-install diskette, reinstalled 5.0 and then restored the backup from the workstation.
Before the restore the basic server configuration appeared to be correct. After the restore most of the users, ibays & data seems to be correct but when I reboot the server it is missing its start-up configuration ("/etc/rc.d/rc7.d" is completely empty!).
This means that the server starts up Linux okay but not the network or any of the services.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
James.
