Title: SME7 clamAV speed - is tweaking possible ??
Post by: thyrsted on August 09, 2006, 09:51:41 AM
Hi y'all

I'm testing a SME7 where i have put appx. 100GB of various data.

HW : Athlon XP 2200+ | 768MB ram | 3 * 250GB/16MB in RAID5 (of cause)

Over night clamAV , - naturally - is scanning.

BUT......
In the morning it's still scanning.

This means that the daily scanning of large ammounts of data (>100GB) is virtually impossible.

Unless it's possible to tweak clamAV..
It seemes to be CPU-issue, but maybe ...

Are there conservative memory-limitations etc in clamAV wich i can increase ?

Any other suggestions ?

TIA
Kenn

Well.....
saw that post.... - but ...

Indirectly it indicates that i'm never going to be able to scan 500GB , even over a week-end. (With an AthlonXP 2400)

What i'm now looking for is a way to maybe exclude different dirs on different days, as there is some time during the night wich clamAV can run full throttle.
