Title: More email problems

Ok, I have searched and searched this forum, google, and the bug traker with no evail. Please help, if you can. I recently upgraded to version 7 from version 6. After the upgrade my incoming and outcoming mail stopped working for internal and external users. I run SME in ServerOnly mode with all mail ports on my router opened (995,465,110, and 25 respectivly) My ISP has port 25 opened for me as well.

My settings in the server are as follows:

POP3 server access  Allow private and public (secure POP3S)
IMAP server access  Disabled
Webmail access  Allow HTTPS (secure)

E-mail retrieval mode  Standard (SMTP)
SMTP authentication  Allow SSMTP (secure)
SMTP Proxy status - Enabled

On a side note:

Each time I change a setting on the server I loose http access to it. In console mode I notice an error scrolling up the screen about RequireSSL mis-spelled etc... on line 1162. In vi I replace this command with SSLRequireSSL, but I have to reboot the server for http access to work again. (Reported on http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=33191.0) Have yet to find a fix for this.

I followed the mini howto crazybob provided and my settings matched his to the letter. (nice job crazybob)

The error I receive from Outlook is:

Send test e-mail message: Outlook could not logon to the outgoing mail server (SMTP). The problem could be the servr name, your server may require authentication, or you server may not support SSL. Verify authentication and SSL options under More settings

No problems are being reported regarding my incoming (POP3). Test in outlook show this function working, however; I cannot receive mail, even when sending it to myself (I changed the SMTP setting to my ISP) or from an outside email account (work).  I also confirmed that my MX record is still intact.

Any help is much appreciated. Please!

I had the same problem.

Do you desinstall all contribs that you have on your SME 6 before your getting upgrade to SME 7?

How do you migrate from SME 6 to SME 7 ??

you probably have contribs installed on v6 which prevents the server from working when you upgrade.
