Title: Email Accounts not being created correctly after upgrade.
Post by: kansasdragon on August 14, 2006, 06:32:30 PM
I am working with a school that upgraded to SME Server 7.0rc1 this summer.

All of the previously existing user account receive email correctly.  The 4 new accounts they created since the upgrade do not receive email, but can send.

In /home/e-smith/files/users/username on the new accounts there is not a MAIL directory.  But there is a mail directory in /var/mail that has files for each of the 4 new users.  The files actually contain an email.

I need some guidance where to look to fix this issue with the creation of user accounts.

Thank you,

Barry

Please search Bug Tracker and see if your problem exists, if not please open a bug ticket.

Thanks!

I did check the Bug Tracker, and searched the forums.  I don't consider this a Version Bug, since I have multiple other 7.0 Servers running and no other servers display this issue.

It appears on this particular server there is an issue with the User Creation scripts, but I don't know where to hunt down this issue, so am looking for advice.

If we all "thought" this version didn't have a bug then the bug tracker would be pretty empty. Even though you have multiple servers out in the field, are they exactly the same? I mean sarcastically the same. Sorry but I'd still report to bug tracker and let the Dev's decide if I is a bug or not.

All of the above is not a flame, just my thoughts meaning something and nothing
