Title: Back up - error
Post by: ceebster on August 16, 2006, 03:08:53 PM
Hi Folks

SME 7.0 in sever only mode - when i chose the menu Back up, and then Back up to desktop - the server manager is giving me an error of
"Error occurred during pre-backup actions."

Any Ideas of how i can fix this?

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

I'm getting the exact same error message.  I want to backup my running system information before I install the new updates (just in case) but I get the same message you do... :(

Any help?

Thx!

Ok.  Found the problem and see that is has already been addressed in Bugtracker (http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=769) however, no resolution was ever posted for it.  Just a "you should never, ever, ever change the MYSQL root password" instead of how to fix it once it is changed    :-?

At any rate, here is the log error:

Aug 16 14:28:33 tci3-srv esmith::event[18823]: mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect

I'll post this in bug 769 as well, but I think we just need a solution of how to either "reset" or "restore" the default password.

Thanks!

And the "workaround" is found in this bug...
