After ready serveral posts I am finally a bit lost. I am running version 7.0 RC3, which I keep updated. Should I install 7.0 final from fresh anyway, or it is of no use ?
 Thanks

Do you guys bother to read the forums ?
This was answered only a few days ago, with alternative methods available.
Search here on software installer or yum update

I have searched and didn't find a conclusive answer. As someone else was asking and this post kept coming up on my searches for 7.0rc3 to final, I thoight I'd ask. I have tried yum update but my server manager still shows rc3. I'm sorry and will search more

The answer is Yes, but upgrades from pre release versions were not supported, although in most cases they did work OK.

 It also requires
 signal-event post-upgrade
 and
 signal-event reboot
 afterwards

I would also repeat the cycle to see if there are any more updates.

Thanks I think its because I've been missing the post update command and just booting.

Many thanks and sorry for not finding that out in the forum

 cheers

In sme7 you can achieve the same effect by selecting Reconfigure from the server manager Shutdown/Reconfigure/Reboot menu

You can also achieve the same result as
 yum update
using the software installer menu to install all available updates, and then select Reconfigure
