Title: multiple ip's (n00b)
Post by: tonyalbers on August 24, 2006, 12:29:44 PM
Hi all,

Trying to us e sme server in server-only mode, I need it to have 2 IP-addresses on the same network, since my ISP's gateway does PAT so that port 25 is forwarded to .2 and http is forwarded to .3

How do I accomplish this?

TIA

The first solution that comes to mind is to add another NIC, change it from "server only" to "server-gateway" and set the WAN ip for one of your other IPs.

It might work, or it might generate a local network traffic storm of some sort...

right, but now I found out that the sme server does not do NIS or NFS out of the box, so I'll got for FreeBSD as a server instead. But thanks for the input.
