Modem>SME server/gateway>switch>lan w/ IIS webserver
Should I use proxy pass to get a site on port 8080 to the webserve or just use port forwarding? either one more effective? faster? I've been told to use proxypass but not told how, searched a lot of Apache docs and just told what it is not how to do it.
Thanks :)

You need to search THIS site rather than other sites.
I'm sure a search on proxy pass would have found this.

ftp://ftp.firewall-services.com/smeserver-proxypass-0.0.2-1.noarch.rpm
Install it & configure it, it's as simple as that.

I went to that thread, very informative, thanks for showing it to me.
One problem though , all those proxypass RPMs are dead links :(
Does anyone have a living program or contrib that does the same thing ?
I'll use port forwarding I guess , is there a performance , sercurity or any real difference between portforwarding and proxypass to a dif server that is hosting a website?

In this thread http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=33405.0 you were told how to do both proxypass and port forward.
You were also told that you would have to use port forward as proxypass only works on port 80 because it is currently limited to http:// only.
frond: FYI proxypass is now built into the base of sme7. It is still being worked on and only seems to work on simple port 80 to port 80 for now. See the above link for details.

Although you have been told that you don't need proxpass, I'm posting this for the record
> One problem though , all those proxypass RPMs are dead links
Sites change, rpms change. Sometimes you need to be pro-active. Another Search Site on proxypass instantly found this
