Title: network printer problem

oke, the password has been done.
local printer work nice.
installing network printer are smooth,
but why client can't print with it?

Did you install the printer driver on the workstation eg Windows printer drivers, and configure them to use the shared network printer name ?

this is the way i install printer
printer name   : hp1300
Brief description : hp laserjet
Location     : Network printer

hostname  : 10.**.**.**
Network printer name : Raw

at client with windows xp sp2, i open the share with run > \\ip SME server
double click the share printer
and choose the driver.
tes page.
nothing happen.

If it is attached to your sme server via the parallel or USB port, then you should select
Location: Local
and then select the correct LPT or USB port.

i'm sorry if i not metioned that
the printer is share from other xp box
with ip 10.**.**.**  that using lpt port.

I do wish people would provide all the story when they ask questions, it would save time wasting with answers that obviously don't apply to their situation.

I think you need to set that network printer up in the Hostnames panel & provide the mac address for the XP NIC.
