Title: Help pls. - New kernel not loading after latest SME7 update
Post by: jatan on August 31, 2006, 08:20:13 AM
The new kernel has been updated it seems, but does not want to load.

uname -r:
2.6.9-34.EL

rpm -qa |grep ppp:
kernel-module-ppp-1.0.2-2_2.6.9_34.0.2.EL
kernel-smp-module-ppp-1.0.2-2_2.6.9_34.0.2.EL
ppp-2.4.3-7.rhel4.1
rp-pppoe-3.5-22

This is causing problems...

The GRUB boot menu (at startup) also only shows entries for the old kernel boot options.

When I look at /boot/grub/grub.conf it does contain entries for the new 2.6.9-34.0.2.EL kernel also, but why is it not accessable at startup?

Has anyone an idea to correct this problem?

Just to get this post off the "unaswered" list and to point out that this problem was solved in this thread..
