Title: Setting up SME 7.0 as SMTP Relay
Post by: mereena on August 31, 2006, 05:03:35 PM
On my home network, I will be putting in an Exchange server. I want to configure an SME server as an SMTP relay that will also act as a spam filter and anti-virus scanner. I'd like to set it up so that incoming mail would go to my SME box, scan it for viruses and spam (using clam and spamassassin respectively) and then forward the emails on to my exchange server.

I'm not really familiar with 7.0, as I've used 6.0 more. 6.0 had an option in it to specify an internal mail server. Is this option what I am looking for, and does 7.0 have something similar to this?

Well,

You are luck that there is a way to do this in the server-manager.  Take a look in the General Email settings.  The last button is "Change e-mail delivery settings"  go in there and set the internal server to be you Exchange Server.
