Title: Lesson learned -backups
Post by: achandra on September 08, 2006, 10:28:00 AM
Alright so being pretty brash about things, I had installed SME which worked flawlessly for over a year..with no reboots.

Anyhow finally hdd crashed...completely un recoverable.

I had a vbulletin site on it and my email...luckily the others were using pop...and I used imap...

Anyhow...im rebuilding it and was wondering what is out there for backing these up.
Preferably id like to export the backup through cron.

There are backup possibilities standard in SME7 for backing up to tape and to workstations. If you are thinking about external drivers (harddisk or rev) or backing up to a windows share on your network you could use the    smeserver-backup2 contrib.
