Title: Adding New Hard Drives to SME7
Post by: kadd on September 08, 2006, 08:48:43 PM
I have installed SME7 on my server.  During the install I had 2 9gig SCSI drives in place.  It was setup as RAID1, md1 and md2.

Now my question, being a total Linux newbie.
I've added my 4 80gig IDE drives to the system.  How do I set them up as 1 RAID5 Volume and make SME store all the users files/ibays to that volume.

Thanks in advance.

David

I'm pretty new to Linux as well but was able to accomplish something similar to what you're asking about.  Like you, I had trouble figuring out how to add the larger RAID5 array after SME7 was already installed.

Here's a link to a my post on the topic.  The instructions furnished by tandum worked wonderfully with the necessary system-specific modifcations.
