Title: serial com port sharing over internet
Post by: Sjoerd Ebben on February 04, 2002, 06:22:04 PM
Hi, is there a possibility for e-smith v5 to share my serial com1 port over the internet?
Is there a server for it?
I need it for someone across the state to access my device.

There is a standard for serial over TCP, RFC 2217.

The linux side of it is handled by a package called sredird and the windows side can be handled by a commercial app, or if you have access to cisco.com for downloads you can use the cisco dialout utility.
