Title: XBox 360 won't connect to Xbox live (SOLVED)

I have been running sme server for a few days in server only mode and it worked fine. Internet access for PC's and xbox was through linksys wireless G router. Then thru netgear vpn firewall. Everything was beautiful.

I tried running in server/gateway mode. I removed the VPN firewall, reconfigured and everything was not beautiful.

I had various difficulties with firefox and explorer that I managed to solve but I could not connect to xbox live. I went through the various xbox diagnostics and found that I had a valid ip address, valid subnet, good connection to internet but had an MTU error. Apparently a value of 1340 is minimum.

I went to the wireless and increased this variable to 1500 (maximum) but this did not solve the problem.

Any ideas?

Wow

It took a real back to the drawing board approach. I reset everything and reentered all the addresses/ssid's/passwords etc and it started working.
