Hope it's not for "18000 users in sme7 for one indian regional stok exchange (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=32589.msg138113#msg138113)" as that would be a lot of reading.....

You were given the answer in the previous post. Click on the link Bcc. It will take you to a thread that tells you how to enable the BCC function.

As far as I know, this used to be be illegal!
But if your boss(?) wants to "keep secrets" (...do you really believe that?), reading someonelese's mails could be not only a complete waste of time and unneffective as well.... there are a lot of ways to send info to outside... without using sme's mail server....
I would not help my boss in that way but it's possible, as shown in the replies you have received:
config setprop qpsmtpd Bcc enabled BccUser "your boss' e-mail"
signal-event email-update
I disagree with that kind of survillance...and as I said before is not effective.
Just mho

Might not be effective but these days compaines either have there own internal policy or in there country it's required by law to keep a copy of incoming/outgoing emails...just my 2p

hi all,
i also disagree about this but some corporate want their employee to use internet only for business purpose and want to watch that their employee are not leaking company data by mail or not doing any mistake and also ensure that they are doing job properly and at which time they are giving feedback by mail to their customers.
some company are also deploying digital video recorders to watch their employees activity.
only company mail and browsing some websites are allowed. other things are blocked.
good for company but bad for employee like not getting access to other mail and messenger

For U.S. government agencies it's a requirement to keep records as part of the freedom of information act. Also there was recently an article which stated that corporations are now going to have to start retaining email in the event they are asked to produce it for a lawsuit. See http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15984058/
I use the SME Server in a local government setting with 125 email users and was told I now need to start archiving email for 5 years. I was very glad to see that the SME Server has the qpsmtpd Bcc feature available.
I'm thinking about setting up a separate SME Server which will act as the email storage server and then setup a new email address every 3 months on that server to help with keeping the email manageable. So for instance I would have Q1-2007@domain.com and Q2-2007@domain.com for the first part of the upcoming year and then if I needed to retrieve something it would help a little bit having it broken up into smaller sets.
Regards,
Jeff
