Title: Problem using local ftp servers
Post by: Jaap on February 11, 2000, 03:36:20 AM
I have two Win98 Clients behind a machine running e-smith with cable internet. Both Clients are running ServU FTP server. I piped ports 2121 and 2000 on my internetconnection to both ports 21 on the clients. This works, but only for people with the same ISP (24.132.xxx.xxx and 62.108.xxx.xxx range). From another ISP, you can connect, get the welcome message,  but no directory listing. What am doing wrong...

Later,

Jaap.

It sounds as though your ISP is blocking access to that port range from outside its network. It doesn't sound like there is anything the e-smith server/gateway can do about that.
