Title: Sending mail to a domain without an MX record
Post by: MarkR on October 04, 2006, 03:56:17 PM
Hi all,

I am trying to send an email to a customer through my SME(6) server, but unfortunatley it is being rejected??!?!?!?!?

dnsstuff.com informs me that there is no MX record for this domain?!!?!?!?

Is qmail capable of sending direct to the domain(A record) when MX record does not exist ?

thanks in advance
mark

Yes, and it will do so automatically.

Since you said that sending mail was unsuccessful, it's possible that the domain in question does not have an MX record or an A record. But it's also possible there is some other configuration problem with that domain. Since you haven't given exact details of your unsuccessful attempt to send mail, nobody can comment further.

Thanks Charliebrady,

The Domain is http://rugbysport.com, if you get chance/time any info would be very helpful.

Many thanks
Mark
