Title: What hardware raid is supported?
Post by: stian on October 06, 2006, 06:44:41 PM
What hardware sata raid card should I buy? That is supported by SmeServer and have drivers included in the installer? Im going to buy now and want something that I don`t need to tweak myself to get working.. :-) One with place for 6 disks.

Generally speaking hardware that is compatible with Centos 4.3 is supported. Check hcl lists for Centos or RHEL.

I use 2 x 3ware 8508 (16 SATA drives in one box) and  sme7 installed without any issues.

But, more recently, I have built a 6 x SATA software raid SME, and this performs better than the hardware raid.
