Title: Having Remote Accounts with LDAP
Post by: Dacky on October 09, 2006, 02:54:24 PM
I am exploring an option and need some advice if anyone can help me.  I want my SME 7 server to manager user accounts on another server running K12LTSP which connects to a few clients.  Our network looks something like this:

Internet
External WAN
      DHCP/Proxy/Filter (ubuntu)
|Internal LANs - - - - - -K12LTSP server - - - - Some LTSP clients
Internal LAN
    Email/LDAP/Web server (SME 7)
External WAN
Internet

I want the SME server to be what keeps the accounts.  I want all accounts for LTSP clients to come from the SME also.  That way, users only need to change one password and administrator only needs to create one account.  I have LDAP enabled on the SME.

Is there anything else I need to do on the SME to make this happen?

I read something about nfs export.
