Title: UDP,ICMP Google?

Rookie question here.

BASE has shown thousands of udp, Icmp alerts these last three days from google addresses.

Anyone know what the deal is? I done read about these alerts and what they mean till I am clueless.

Also been getting them from whithehat? Ain't they in jail?

Is there a simple way to find out if these alerts are safe? The TrustedSource.org IP Info says they don't know. Just interested inhow this all works, so if ya feel like replying, thanks!

Could/would one of you that knows a little about SME advise me if it is even necessary to run snort or some such, or is SME so secure out of the box that I don't need it?

I'm starting to think something in the latest snort/oink master/guardian/base setup or rules downloads don't like my system.
