Please report that in the bugtracker.
I have yum update problem as described in this bug:
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1873
But I guess the issue you two are experiencing is a different one.

I have still the same problem and I still can't use yum anymore. Why?.. I still don't know.
So I want to deinstall yum and then reinstall it again. Should that be a solution?
Because I can't use the 'yum'-way, I have to delete yum the old fashioned way. Does anyone know the name of the yum rpm so I can delete it with: rpm -e yum....
thanks,
-
Moving this topic to the SME Server 7.x forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!

Sorry, I thought that Yum was an add-on.
The problem is solved. I uninstalled the yum-noarch and smeserver-yum rpm's with
rpm -e --nodeps yum.noarch smeserver-yum
I deleted yum.conf and the yum directories in /etc
Then I reinstalled yum-noarch and smeserver-yum and everything works again.

I got the files from the CDROOM. Is it anything wrong with the method?

It works for me, did you have the same problem or a slightly different one. My solution was a matter of "trial and error".
I had my files from http://ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/smeserver/releases/7/smeos/i386/CentOS/RPMS but I can't imagine that should be the problem.
After you reinstalled the rpm's, do a
yum update
Then check if there is a new yum.conf in your /etc directory. If that is OK, you have to make the repositories active and visible.
