Title: Dyn DNS and DNS Forwarding
Post by: remstrus on October 31, 2006, 10:20:00 AM
Hi

I have searched and cannot find the solution to my question.

I have Domains registered with my registrar, which allows me to point A and MX records to redirect the DNS.

My question is that do I change my mail/ftp/www A name to server.dyndns.org and my MX to server.dyndns.org

If so would my MX be seen as a spam / relay server? Would I need to enter my Dyndns account info in the Server Config with the DNS template from my host already pointing to it?

I think I am a little confused on how to forward my DNS and MX to allow for the Dyn DNS service to be effective, as currently my DNS is pointing to my (dynamic) IP, with my email going through my ISP's SMTP server.

Sorry for the Newb questions but I am learning ;)

Thanks :)

Phil

Would be good if you could share what you did to figure it out, so that if any other people get the problem you experinced they could see what you did to resolve it.
