I am running SpamAssassin version 3.1.7 on SME version 7 and i have several questions with regards to changing the rules for SpamAssassin in SME.
In SME version 6.x there was a front end where you had options such as;
Automatic deletion of spam with score above 15
Automatically delete old junkmail
Spam report
etc....
http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/index.html?frame=http%3A//sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/howtos/howto_29.htm
In SME version 7 the only options that i am able to configure for Spamassassin are
sensitivity level
rejection level
sort spam into junkmail folder
etc....
Where did the options go?? How do i get them back?
I am trying to get SpamAssassin to do it's job properly (we are getting loads of spam coming through every day) and also need to tweak the spamming rules - where do i do this if not in SME? I have been editing the /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf but nothing seems to be taking effect. If i do the command config show spamassassin my changes are not showing.
Is there a reporting tool available in SME 7 to see how much spam is coming through / getting blocked?

Annw,
The options are there.
The reject level will only work if you set the Spam Sensitivity to 'Custom'.
There is a script available that will delete mail from the junkmail box on a regular basis. Search the forum for it.
Also have you enabled the RBL Blocklists. This will help cut spam down even further. Once again do a search on DNSBL to find the instructions.

Your understanding of how to make changes is the wrong way around.
Change the db entries,
to get the syntax do
db
eg
db spamassassin setprop xxx yyy
there are also entries in the config db
config show spamassassin
expand-template /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf
/etc/init.d/spamassassin restart
I think an
signal-event email-update
should cover changes to the configuration db
then .../local.cf will be updated with those changes, which then get read by spamassassin

Thank you for the tips.
Do you know if SpamAssassin has a reporting tool? Now that i have reduced the spam coming in by about 80% I would like to report on this and have some graphs etc to show - any ideas?

Do we now have to tell people to read other peoples answers as well !!!!
Read crazybobs answer.

er, yes, i did read crazybobs thread, but the links to the software he is suggesting are dead, so no, you do not need to tell people to read other peoples answers as well in a not at all sarcastic tone
I have now found what i need for reporting purposes here;

Thanks for the help!

If you read past the first page you will find links that work.

Have a look at:

No graph, but excellent statistics.
