I've been testing a new server, which is NOT the 'live' web server yet, but has its own fixed public IP address 207.209.xxx.xxx
Was unable to browse 207.209.xxx.xxx ( external IP address ) from a remote computer, (192,168.xxx.xxx worked locally)
after reconfiguring the new server domain to mytestdomain.com, and setting mytestdomain.com to 207.209.xxx.xxx, I was able to browse mytestdomain.com from the remote computer
On SME6 I am able to browse by IP address, which really helps when setting up.
Is this a feature, or is there a setting to allow access to the IP address without a valid domain?

What exactly does "unable to browse" mean?

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
This went away when I put a valid domain name onto the sme7 server
that is to say
invalid_domain.com, 205.207.xxx.xxx won't work by ip address
but
valid_domain.com, 205.207.xxx.xxx works as either name or ip address
