Title: Do you have fix about Realtek 8169 Ethernet...
Post by: ANSW3R on November 14, 2006, 09:46:20 AM
Realtek 8169 Ethernet is not recommended
The driver included in Centos 4.1 is out of date and has problems. See this bug listing for details, and please update the bug if you have a solution (ie. updated drivers):

Thanks! :)

Did you try installing SME7 final ?

It's based on 4.3 not 4.1 and somebody on the Centos forums has it working (I think).

Yes, I've installed SME 7 Final.

There is a time that my ethernet freezes. Not always, around 3 in 10 cases. Do you know what's the problem? I've read the FAQ's in smeserver.org and found out that Realtek 8169 Ethernet is not recommended...

My two NIC's are Realtek 8169.

Need your advice badly.

Thanks,
Denry

Sorry, I don't.

Did you ask on the Centos forums? SME7 final is based on Centos 4.3
