Title: setting up and using a sub-domain on my SME7 box?
Post by: piran on November 20, 2006, 01:01:42 PM
SME7's Primary ibay is not specifically used.
Its associated domain <mySME7domain.com> is on a separate ibay.
Further registered domains are configured (virtual domains).
For example <mydomain.com> is one such (example) top level domain.
How do I go about setting up a sub-domain eg <test.mydomain.com>?
For that matter how do I go about actually using that sub-domain!?
This assumes that such an area *is* properly known as a sub-domain.

browse to the server manager

create a public ibay  and place your site files in the html directory that will b created for you  (home/e-smith/files/ibays/MY NEW IBAY/html)

in the domain section of server manager, connect the domain to the ibay

with your domain registrar , point the domain to your ip address

voila!
