Title: dansguardian vs. squid(guard)
Post by: jonash on November 22, 2006, 12:59:55 PM
Hi,

Im looking for something to stop people from surfing to different sites. I also want to see where people has been...

I found DG and Squidguard. Squid is already installed, so I assume I can found the answer of the "where" question above in the logs.

Does these things work together? Does the http goes to squid and then DG, or i DG an replacement for squid?

Jonas

If you have these installed already then Sarg is a package that will provide reports of 'net activity.

As for whether Dansguardian and Squidguard work together on the same server I do not know.  I have servers with Dansguardian and associated pckgs as the filter and sarg reports for review of history...

I also have servers with Suidguard and sarg to accomplish the same.

They both work well independently, but together I cannot answer as I haven't tried as it seems redundant :-)
