Post by: sandoz on November 22, 2006, 02:37:06 PM
i wanted to try out sme server, but after i boot from cd, i get a wrong screen resolution and that makes the install impossible, cause i cannot read the instructions. Everything is blurred

Any solution to override the def screen res?

Out of curiosity, what size monitor are you using, and what type of video interface does your computer have?

On my machine the installation program was in text mode...

it is in text mode, but some refrehrate, verticsal sync or so is not ok

i am using a via epia m10000 board with integrated VIA Unichrome AGP graphics card. I have had the same issue if i remeber right when installing ubuntu, but in that install i couild force a different resolution when booting from cd. Monitor is a 15inch

Is that a i586 or i686 ?

Anyway, try holding down the shift key as you boot the install cd.

It will give you a boot prompt where you can probably put your monitor figures in like Ubuntu.

What you will see in SME..

Pressing F1 will give you the Centos help. Not all, if any option will be available. SME only installs in text mode.
