Title: Webcam not working in Skype or MSN
Post by: glock_19 on December 12, 2006, 08:08:08 AM
Hi,

I am trying to use a webcam on either Skype or MSN but when I connect I can see the other parties picture but they cannot see me. I am running behind a SME 7.0 box. If I connect at a coffee shop down the road, it works 100%.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

You will probably have to open a specific port for video to come through. Google the net for a list of MSN ports and this forum to find how to open up ports for your server.

Well i don't think that it's a problem with sme.
I use a webcam for skype and msn and both work just fine without opening ports on sme. Check your drivers and peerguardian if you have it on your computer.

I had the same problem and i solved it by disabling PG.

I have tried looking at the firewall on the users machine but even if i disable it I still cannot get the webcam to work. Seeing other peoples webcams works fine. Any ideas will be much appreciated.
