I have my SME On a dualmachine now with 2 MP2400+ but one of the IDE channels is bad so i want a IDE controller that SME support,so i kan have backups to CD with a script i saw in the conribs forum.Also have regular backups too.And what tape drive is recomended and can i install a another disk for raid later?

You should check out the Centos page if it's compatible with Centos 4.3 which SME7 is build on.

It isn't a comprehensive list by any means, but I think your tape drive is on it.
FYI - I'm using a Seagate Travan 10/20GB IDE tape drive with SME Server 7, and it works okay. The only issue I had was with the ide-scsi module not loading by default (see http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=788 for the details and fix). Without this module, SME Server 7 could see the drive at boot-up but didn't recognize it as a valid device for flexbackup.
