Hi.
I've just read several times the user guide and still have the same pb:
My SME Server v5.0 won't connect to internet :(
My NIC works fine when configured as local interface (DHCP,...) but when I configure it to connect to Internet via Wanadoo ADSL and ECI Ethernet modem (PPPOE), it's doesn't work :(:( The internet test fail.
The card is a DLINK DFE 530TX (detected by SME Server as a VIA Rhine nic)
When I reboot the server I have the following message: (when shutting down services)
the adsl connect script (PID628) appears to have died.
Does anybody know where to find a solution ? (my username/password is correct and I can connect using the same line/parameters with a Windows XP computer)
I'll uprade it to 5.1.2 tomorrow and try again. But it should be working already...

It seems that you have only one NIC.... You'll need to have 2 NICs (One for the local network, the other connected to your modem). It works fine for me (Wanadoo ADSL and Alcatel Speed Touch Home, PPPoE)

Yes, I have only one nic now.
Just because I wanted to test before...and also because I've got to buy another PCI card :)
I'll install the second nic at midday, and try again.
Does it prevent the SME Server to connect to internet not to have a nic dedicated to LAN ?

I've just installed a realtek 8139 based nic, installed v 5.1.2 and it works fine :)
