Title: Suggested NIC
Post by: bpivk on December 26, 2006, 11:21:34 PM
Hy

I would just like to know what NIC's are you using.

I have two realtec cards and i have a lot of kernel errors and problems so i'll switch one of them. I have a very limited choice of cards so i would really apreciate if you could tell me about some NIC's that don't use realtec chipset and work fine on SME.

Thanks in advance

Did that and it worked for a reboot or two and then the problem came back.

what realtek nics are you using?  realtek 8169?  several users have complained about driver & performance issues.  Have you tried 3com, intel or any other major vendor?  I also use realtek nics, realtek 8139s.  I have issues like you stated only when the nics are going bad.

Changed one nic for dlink DGE-528T  and it works like a charm. Had some problems to set it up but it works now.
