Title: yum update fails for comps.rpm checksum doesn't match
Post by: gixmo on January 01, 2007, 01:09:18 PM
After doing a yum update, it tries to install the following
Quote
=============================================================================
 Package                 Arch       Version          Repository        Size
=============================================================================
Updating:
 comps                   i386       2:4.4CENTOS-0.20060823  smeos            9.1 M

But yum can't install because on all the mirrors the checksum doesn't match, the following messages are shown :

Quote
Downloading Packages:
(1/1): comps.rpm          100% |=========================| 1.2 MB    00:04
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/releases/7/smeos/i386/CentOS/base/comps.rpm: [Errno -1] Package does not match checksum

Error Downloading Packages:
  comps - 2:4.4CENTOS-0.20060823.i386: failure: CentOS/base/comps.rpm from smeos: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

Can anyone help me, i'm just a noob.

I am completeing my 13th upgrade. I have had that happen a few times. I wait a little while and try it again. I have had to do a couple from from a terminal screen to keep a better eye on what was happening, but all in all it has been a very smooth process.

A big Thanks to all involved, and a Happy New Year.
