Title: VPN
Post by: Darren Windham on February 16, 2000, 03:41:33 PM
I am trying to connect to my corporate VPN box, which is an Altiga.  It uses IKE and IPSec.  I believe I have to open port 500 and protocol 50.  What is the best method to open this up in e-smith.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your question is a bit vague - tryong to connect from where to where?

In any case, your question is a bit beyond what E-smith can help you with at the moment - what little resources there are are concentrated on removing bugs from the 4.0 beta release.

You might find someone in your local Linux User Group who can help to solve the technical problem you have, and the developers mailing list devinfo@e-smith.net and documentation on this website are  the places to look for help in integrating your solution into the e-smith architecture.

Regards

Charlie

I need to open pptp traffic to come into my internal network.  I'm trying to authenticate on an NT4 server on my employer's network so I can do remote admin and get past the firewall.

You can take a look at the VPN Masquerade Howto, which would be available from here:

Good luck,
Alex.
