Title: Internal E-smith server
Post by: Kevin on February 20, 2002, 05:35:52 AM
Can I use the E-smith server in the server only mode and have my existing Firewall forward information to it?  I want to use E-smith as a web/mail/file server, but I don't want it to be on my firewall.  Is this possible to do?

you will need to forward those ports on your firewall to the internal IP address of your e-smith box

look at the docs in your firewall and it should tell you how to do it

That should be no problem at all. I use Astaro myself (http://www.astaro.com) with e-smith behind it in server-only mode. E-smith itself contains firewal capabillitys but I like to exeriment with a firewall myself :-)
