Title: Ez-ipupdate for version 7.0 / 7.1
Post by: pwgsc1 on January 17, 2007, 02:05:26 AM
Hi Folks,

Does anyone have ez-ipupdate runing on 7.0/7.1?    I've tried some different RPM's off the web and I get this error when I run the program.

"Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno or h_errno directly. needs to be fixed."

Thanks,

Craig
Title: Going to try using ddclient

Hi,

After doing some major searching on my EZ-ipupdate problem I've come across the ddclient rpm that works with EASYDNS so I'm going to give that a try later today and see if that works for me.

Moving this topic to the SME 7.x contribs forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!
Title: DDclient up and running
Post by: pwgsc1 on January 18, 2007, 04:15:48 PM
Hi Folks,

Just an update on my progress.   I installed ddclient and it's working like a charm.  My IP has changed 3 times and it updated Easydns everytime.   I lot easier to use then ez-ipupdate and it's nice that it's right in the web interface.

I'm using ADSL, PPPOE and EasyDNS.   The only issue I came across was that the Domain name on your Server has to be identical to what's registered with easydns.

Example.   SmeServer.org is not the same as  www.smeserver.org

I'm sure this is just a tweak on easydns to fix but it's not a big issue for me.

That's a bug at easydns's end. Domain names are non case sensitive.
