Title: [Solved] How to change username format for email addresses
Post by: micklow on January 17, 2007, 10:21:46 PM
Hi all

Am wanting to build an email server for the students in my school. Have just done a fresh install of SME 7.1.

Our students have user accounts beginning with the year that thay leave school, ie 10stu06l. I want the email address to be 10stu06l@student.domainname. However, the system does not let me enter such an account because the name starts with a number. Is there any way to change this restriction?

Thanks

Michael

Yes, I did see something on that... but I forget where and when. Search?

Maybe it was an iBay name starting with a numeral;~/
Don't forget to search the Bugzilla too.

Problem sorted - the Lazy Admin Toolkit (http://www.sonoracomm.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34&Itemid=32) works fine on SME7.1 and allows non-standard usernames and passwords.

cheers
