Title: SME Server - not letting certian mail through
Post by: ceebster on January 23, 2007, 09:06:08 AM
Hi There

I have SME 7.0 being used to remove some of my spam, before in enters my mail server.  it is working really well, except for some email domais, ie yahoo.co.uk and gmail.com, when people send a mail, it bounces straight back with the following

Your message has encountered delivery problems
to the following recipient(s):

cbutler@********.*****.uk
Delivery failed
552 Mail with no From header not accepted here

Sent:    .
Received:552 Mail with no From header not accepted here

I have now moved the server out of the way and the mail now comes into  my exchange server.

Can i do something on the SME box to stop this?

Thanks

Chris.

If you search here for "Mail with no From header not accepted here" you will find a workaround. But I find it hard to believe that gmail.com and yahoo.co.uk would send you illegally formatted messages. I expect you are seeing spam or virus messages being rejected, and you should not change anything.
