I installed this contrib and it works fine.
It updated my ip at dyndns.org (checked it on their website)
The question is : how often does it update?
Cause the domain you registrered at dyndns wil expire after 35 days if you don't update the record.
I have a dynamic ip adres, but id doesn't change a lot.
I had a ip for half a year, only changed after the isp crashed.
Does anybody know?

I think it does update the dyndns entry only when your ip changes.
Try to take a look on ddclient site if forcing update is possible.
-
By default (/etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf), it checks for IP changes every 300 seconds (5 minutes).
It compares your current IP address to the ones in ddclient.cache and if they are different it will update them.
It also does a "force update" every 15 days so your account doesn't expire.

Awesome cause my dynamic ip almost never changes and then the account won't expire.

Speaking of - I have a couple of staic IP`s that we use for VPN purposes. The ISP has just started charging for them. For those of you using dyndns - how are your experiences in terms of DNS accuracy?

I have had very good luck with ddclient.
ddclient is being considered to replace the current (and somewhat ancient) client in SME7. You can follow progress here:

more info on ddclient, check the above link...
according to 1 of my DDclient boxes, it updates itself every 12 hours, but the IP only ever changes when the box goes down...
