to get access to /etc directories, you must log in as root.
I would never connect as root using ftp, password can me compromised. You should use sftp

Title: FTP as root

I changed the ftpusers file to exclude root
However it had no effect.
I used to changing that to allow ftp access.
Its not a problem, the server is not on the Internet
I dont understand enought about what I am reading in
bugzilla bug 590 ChrootDir.
So a good pointer would be helpful
Is there a good book on the OS for SME ?
thanks
