Has anyone tried the powerswitch add-on with SME 7.1?

Well you can shutdown or reboot server via server manager.

I think you may find it is already there. I know I can shut down a server in an orderly manner if I just press the power button for a moment.

well long switch push is for hard power down

soft power down should be with a short push on the power button       isn't it ?

That's right. It also depends on the main board, and bios settings. I set the bios for APM, and that the power button needs 4 seconds for power off. If I give the power button a short push it shuts the system down.
