Title: Hardware RAID support?
Post by: Daniel Daley on February 18, 2000, 11:21:20 AM
I want to install E-Smith on a Compaq server with a SMART Array controller.  Is this supported?  I am mainly looking at the version 4.0 release as I will be requiring the virtual domain support.  If it is not supported by defualt, a good workaround would be appreciated.

TIA

THe Compaq SMART Array doesn't appear on the supported hardware list at http://www.e-smith.net/, so it looks like you might have some trouble.

Perhaps you should join the developers mailing list - devinfo@e-smith.net. I'm sure that the e-smith server/gateway can be made to work on your hardware, but it will take some engineering. That might be a good place to ask for that kind of advice.
