Title: Mail receive problem
Post by: shaito on February 08, 2007, 09:16:14 PM
Hi

I got a problem setting up my mail server:

I can send Mails without any Problems, but I can't receive them! The sender doesn't get any mail not delivered mail.

My Setup:

Static DNS from DynDNS.com:

Settings in SME Server:
(I installed SME in German - hope I translate correct)

Let me know if you need any more data of my setup
Thanks in advance for your help

greets
Shaito

I think you should set the wildcard to yes.

What is your configuration, server or server/gateway?
What type of connection do you have to the internet?
Is there a router or firewall betwenn the server and the internet?
Anything that may be blocking any ports?

I live in a student dorm and use university network. So I have Ethernet connection. Althoug the University of course uses different routers and switches, there is no firewall or a NAT. My IP is public and all ports are reachable.

Your mail server is
mail.mydomain.ath.cx
but I don't think you need to enter anything at DynDNS for that ie leave blank

I'd also go to grc.com and run a port scan on your server to see if port 25 (mail server port) is really open.
