Title: clonning/backup your SME with a live CD !!!

General:
To backup, you can do cmd in a shell:

1/ booting with a live CD and a backup hdd (no mount of partitions)
2/
save
dd if=/dev/hda | gzip | dd of=/path_to/save.gz
restore
gzip -dc /path_to/saave.gz | dd of=/dev/hda


To clone the two disks (hda is main, hdb is the backup)
dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb
dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb bs=512 count=1 (for the mbr)
