Title: Long User List
Post by: sj1410 on February 14, 2007, 06:58:31 AM
Hi,

If there are around 7 to 8000 users, and when we click on users in server-manager, it takes a lot of time to populate the list,

is there a way by which the list can be grouped in different pages alphabetically.

not build in.

SME Server is not designed for so many users.
It may work with such an amount, but I doubt, that the developers will change the behaviour of each and every panel, that has to cope with so many users (but if you donate, maybe they will do so!?).

But since the users (and other objects like ibays and groups) are still managed in an ASCII file, the access speed and sort and search features cannot be programmed efficiently.

Just curious: How long does it take? How fast is the server, how much RAM?

thanks for your reply,

the server is XEON with 2 GB RAM

is there some other opensource distribution available which can support upto 25000 users.
