Been through many posts but have not found out if ther is a prefered sequence for installing both Dansgardian and Sarg. Have done a reinstall of 7.1 and would like to get it correct. Also there are several posts on the Repositories ansd which version should be used - can anyone clear up which its the best combination of these to additions to SME Server. Last but not least is there any editing needed to either of the programs when they are done.
I have them both on a test machine and am not sure that I have used the correct versions as Sarg is not reporting as I thought it would. all reports come back from loop make address - server is in server only mode.
Filter is beening done. followed several posts and it appears to be something I am missing. I am planning on installing it on the fresh machine that is the gaateway in the end.
Any input is greatly apprieciated.
If there is a specific How To on this I guess I have missed it - seems the confusion to me is the new ropos installs althought they seem to work very well.

There is a howto on dansguardian at:
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/rmitchell/smeserver/howto/dansguardian%20instal%20&%20configure%20HOWTO%20for%20sme%20server.htm
I used the dansguardian and sarg rpm's from dungog:
dansguardian-2.9.8-2.rpm
dungog-blacklists1.0-20061002.rpm
pcre-6.7-1.rpm (version 2.9.8 needs this)
smeserver-dansguardian-2.9-2.rpm
sarg-2.2.1-1.el4.rpm
smeserver-sarg-2.2.1-4.rpm
In the howto you can find what to do with dansguardian.conf
Sarg doesn't need extra configuration.

Thank you - I had not found that How To. So I assume (quite the bad thing to do usually) that the order of installation does not matter.
Again thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
